The project

The greatest challenge of our time is the system change towards a society suitable for grandchildren. Given the complexity of the world's problems, we are experimenting and testing this change on a small scale. With a bottom-up approach, we create a place where civil society exemplifies a planet-friendly model that is a socio-political and economic-ecological role model. With the project zukunft.bahnhof an area development is created in Lichtensteig, which is supposed to be a model for a regenerative, grandchild-friendly society. Based on a mixed-use concept, social and technical innovation is being experimented with, and at the same time a lively meeting place is being created. The model is to become a beacon for other projects of this kind and inspire the population with low-threshold experiences when visiting the place. The zukunft.bahnhof tells the narrative of a successful paradigm shift and uses applied examples from different areas of life to show the way there: Community living, new forms of organization and ownership, circular economy, etc.
