Cradle to Cradle®Design defines and develops recyclable products. As a differentiation to conventional recycling, it insists that the quality of the raw materials be maintained over several product life cycles, and only "safe chemicals" are used. The production processes, use and recycling of the products are designed according to the model of maintaining the quality of the raw materials over several life cycles: meaning no waste. Everything is a nutrient. The right materials are used in defined cycles (metabolites) at the right time in the right place.
